Aerospace firm expands its South Florida headquarters, creates 100 jobs

AAR Landing Gear has expanded its Medley headquarters and will add 100 more employees, according to Newmark.

The company, a subsidiary of Wood Dale, Illinois-based AAR Corp. (NYSE: AIR), extended its lease at Medley Commerce Center by 10 years and expanded by 17,000 square feet to now total 177,000 square feet. It has about 500 employees there now working on landing gear for both airlines and the military.

AAR has about $1.8 billion in revenue.

The owner of the industrial building at 9270 N.W. 100th St. is Gateway Southeast Properties.

Newmark’s Steve Medwin, Nick Wigoda, John Mejia, Mark Deady and Adam Marshall represented AAR in the team. The landlord was represented by Jon Aibel, Alex Bernaldo and Mike Silva with Americas Industrial Real Estate.

“South Florida’s industrial market is booming, and this transaction reflects AAR’s continued commitment to grow its business in Miami,” Medwin said. “Nearly 100 new high-wage jobs will be created with this expansion.”

The aviation and aerospace sector is one of the biggest industries in South Florida.
